Port City Mopeds In-House Warranty 2023
As retailers of quality mopeds and scooters, Port City Mopeds orders products from reputable suppliers, then performs final assembly and quality assurance processes to ensure an excellent deliverable. We are confident in our work and our products, and are able to offer an exceptional warranty.
Port City Mopeds warranty covers and guarantees:
All parts of the purchased moped, and covers any repairs needed to correct defective material and workmanship, except those listed below as not covered.
Faultless operation of the product during the warranty period, so long as it is operated in accordance with the instructions provided. Port City Mopeds will cover the cost of any parts and/or repairs needed to restore a moped under warranty to perfect functional condition.
Product quality characteristics as specified in the owner's manual.
Bintelli, Amigo, Segway, and all other products are warranted for 12 months or 1000 miles, whichever occurs first from date of purchase to the original purchaser.
Port City Mopeds warranty does not cover:
Any parts and labor costs incurred in connection with required or recommended maintenance services as outlined in the owner's manual.
Normal maintenance services such as carburetor tune-up, replacement filters, lubricants, or gaskets and other such services. Normal wear items after 150 miles such as bulbs, control cables, tubes, tires, brake shoes, contact breaker points, spark plugs, chains, sprockets.
Damages or failures resulting from accident, theft, fire, misuse, use of improper or dirty fuels or lubricants, alteration tampering, improper repair, racing, or speed contests.
Normal deterioration of appearance due to wear, exposure, or other environmental conditions.
Incidental or consequential damages such as loss of use, inconvenience, or commercial loss.
Damages or depreciation caused by lack of maintenance, improper storage, corrosion, substandard fuel quality and consequential damages, misuse, or abuse.
Transportation to/from the Port City Mopeds shop: Transportation can be arranged here, though the cost of transportation is not covered under warranty.
Same day service: Though we will make every effort to remedy any problems as quickly as possible, warranty repairs are subject to our normal operating hours and service queue. If possible, warranty repairs will be "bumped ahead" in line, to expedite repair turnaround.
Services performed or parts installed by service shops that are not Port City Mopeds.
Port City Mopeds warranty will be void if:
There is any indication, at the technician’s discretion and judgement, that the moped/scooter has been improperly stored, maintained, or operated.
The owner is unable to produce documentation of a comprehensive and on-schedule service history.
The first scheduled tune-up & service has been skipped.
This “300 Mile Tune-Up” is offered for free and is included in the sale of every scooter, so please do not pass it up! Our grace period covers this free service up to 500 miles - past 500 miles, your scooter still requires its first service, however it will be billed at our standard $195 flat rate tune-up charge. This service must be performed in the first season of your ownership to be eligible for the free tune-up offer. See “300 Mile Tune-Up” section below for more information.
300 Mile Tune-Up
Background: our free 300 Mile Tune-Up program is designed to accomplish at least two functions: A) Decrease any barrier that may discourage our customers from performing the scooter’s critical first service, performed between 300-500 miles, just after the engine has been broken-in, and B) Encourage customers to get out and ride their mopeds, to get that engine broken in promptly! These small engines run better after they have been broken in - more robust, resilient, powerful, better fuel economy, easier starts, etc - everything gets better after the engine is broken in. Conversely, small engines can be finicky if left to sit for extended periods without use, especially if they are not yet broken in. As such, the Free 300 Mile Tune-Up is designed to incentivize our customers to get out there, put some miles down, and get that engine broken down ASAP, to yield the best possible experience with their scooter.
Your first service - our 300 Mile Tune-Up - is free and is included with the purchase of your scooter. You have a grace period of 300-500 miles, during which mileage interval your tune-up service will be FREE! This service must be performed in the first season of your ownership to be eligible for the free tune-up offer. Tune-ups performed in the following year(s) must be performed according to the factory prescribed service schedule, but will not be free, and will be billed at our standard rate of $150. Stretching the 300 mile service interval over more than 1 season of riding negates the purposes of the Free 300 Mile Tune-Up program, as explained in the previous paragraph.
Returns & Exchanges
Port City Mopeds does not accept returns on mopeds or scooters. If a product you purchased from us is not meeting your expectations, please contact us so we can maintain our warranty.
